Replacing a radio with the NAVIOM AV-110: what to retain and what to agree again

When updating an aviation position, retaining its antenna, supply and familiar controls is an understandable aim. The same general purpose, however, does not make two radios interchangeable without changes. NAVIOM AV-110 frequency coverage and basic connections are established, while the short sheet omits mounting dimensions and a full interface list. Plan the transition around specific parts of the position rather than promising to exchange one enclosure for another.
Transfer the task, not assumptions
First retain the description of the old position: working channels, required spacing and normal user actions. The AV-110 supports 118.000–136.99166 MHz with 25 or 8.33 kHz spacing. Its 2,000-channel memory and GRP support an organised new list, but the supplied material does not establish configuration transfer from another manufacturer. Agree the source channel map separately rather than relying on an unconfirmed automatic import.
Consider the whole antenna path
The new radio has an SO-239 antenna socket and a nominal impedance of 50 ohms. These start the assessment of an existing path, but do not establish suitability of every installed antenna. Its frequency coverage, cable, connections and placement are needed. List the existing items in the enquiry and mark what the customer wants to retain. A matching socket alone does not replace agreement on the complete path from the radio to the antenna.
Power and audio are not inherited automatically
The AV-110 uses 12 or 24 V DC with a maximum voltage of 31.5 V. At 13.75 V, the stated currents are 5 A during transmission and 4 A at maximum volume. External speaker specifications are 4 ohms and at least 10 W at the same voltage. Describe the existing source, speaker and wiring separately; their presence on site does not establish suitability for the new radio.
Finish with an understandable action map
Once connections are agreed, prepare the groups and assignments for the three quick buttons. The operator needs to see where the primary channel is now and how to choose the working mode. Assess dual watch and priority scanning on the agreed set. Record which installation parts were retained, which were replaced and what the offer includes. This helps service the updated position without assigning unverified dimensions, pinouts or accessory compatibility to the AV-110.
Questions and answers
Can all accessories be moved from the old radio?
Only after the specific items are agreed. Shared purpose does not establish antenna, supply, speaker or other accessory compatibility.
Is automatic channel import confirmed?
The supplied description lists no such function. Agree transfer of the working channel list separately.
