MTP6550: handheld TETRA for those with little DMR
Handheld station of TETRA standard: IP67 case, GPS, Bluetooth, AES128/256 encryption, Man-Down function, QVGA color screen 2 inches, battery 1650 mAh. It works both on the network (TMO) and directly between stations (DMO).
How TETRA differs from DMR in essence
Three things. The speed of establishing the connection - the call passes faster than pressing the button at the interlocutor. Group work: The system is initially built around large dynamic groups rather than a pair of channels. And security – strong ether encryption is part of the standard, not an option. The price for this is infrastructure: TETRA requires a built network. DMR It starts at two stations.
Man-Down and IP67 are not about marketing
Man-Down sends an alarm if the station lies motionless or in a horizontal position for a long time: for workers working alone at altitude, in wells and at power facilities, this is a standard occupational safety requirement.
