GM340 or GM360 for a machine: how to coordinate the antenna MR-14U
When buying a GM340 or GM360 for a car, it is important to align the station along with the antenna and connection. The MR-14U can be considered for suitable magnetic installation, but it is selected for work channels and actual apparatus. We will understand how to get a subject quotation and accept a set on the machine.
First, determine the workplace in the car.
One car has the task of connecting the driver with the dispatcher, the other has an exchange with the site staff. Write down which vehicles and in which system the crew should work. When selecting a GM340 or GM360, station configuration, necessary channels and communication order are important. The name Motorola does not in itself prove to be compatible with any existing fleet.
If the station is already installed, separate the replacement device from the change of the antenna line. Describe what suits the driver, where failures occur and what accessories can be checked for reuse. A new order may include only the necessary components; for this purpose, the condition of the former equipment is evaluated before the specification is agreed.
How to choose a model for the driver's job
Motorola describes the standard GM340 as a station with six channels, button control and LED display. The GM360 spec spec specifies 255 channels and an alphanumeric display of 14 characters. These differences help you choose the way you control, rather than promising different ranges.

Private Line and five-ton selective signaling are specified for both models; their operation is determined by station and network settings. The GM360’s large memory does not indicate the factory readiness of all channels. the configuration and profile for a particular car are confirmed separately, including the required driver names and actions.
MR-14U is selected through channels and configuration
Nana Official page of the Racio MR-14U the listed specifications are a 9.5 cm magnetic base, a 450 cm cable, a UHF male (PL-259) connector, and electrical lengths of ¼λ for VHF and ¾λ for UHF. These provide useful starting points for selection. Confirm the specifications of the actual version offered and its suitability for the required channels separately.
The total recording of 136-500 MHz in the documentation is not a CER map for each frequency. It doesn't give you any reason to promise the same unconfigured work in this whole area. To order, you need operating frequencies for receiving and transmitting, and for receiving - a coordinated check of the antenna path on the channels used. The adapter solves the question of connection, but does not replace this test.
Before selecting the transition elements, specify the actual antenna socket of the station and the cable socket. Attach a readable marking of the device and a photo of the connections. Similar models and accessories have different configurations; matching the chain with one word “Motorola” creates unnecessary positions in the order.

The 2006 Motorola specifications for the documented VHF/UHF-configuration GM340 and GM360 indicate an input of 10.8–15.6 V DC at a nominal value of 13.2 V. This is not the identification of a specific warehouse copy: its requirements are verified by full marking. Direct 24Vs are outside the specified range; suitable conversion and connection are selected separately. The power supply cable does not change the voltage.
The Motorola Supply Catalog for GM distinguishes power supply cables for different applications. Therefore, the cable inherited from the old equipment is also checked by the full code. This technical guide does not specify a universal connection scheme: it is prepared by the installer for the agreed apparatus and machine.
Check the surface and route of the cable
The magnetic antenna is convenient for a coordinated installation without a hole, however, the surface of the machine and the holding of the base must be evaluated for real conditions. The material of the roof, the available place and the feeder route are included in the selection. The diameter of the magnet cannot determine suitability for any speed, any roof or all transportation options.
It is useful for the installer to show the intended place and passage of the cable into the cabin. Check the length reserve, permissible bends and the absence of pinches, as well as fixing the connector at the station. The required length is estimated by the wiring route; the length of the cable specified by the manufacturer does not prove that it will fit each machine without changing the circuit.

Tests shall be carried out on the channels used and under agreed conditions. One successful conversation near the control room doesn't describe the entire route. If different types of transport are equipped, the results of a typical machine are checked in relation to the rest, noting the differences in the installation.
How to request a set for the fleet
Specify the models of available stations, communication parameters, types of machines, the desired number and the city of receipt. If the equipment works in Kazan and St. Petersburg (Peter), separate the requirements for the machines and the receiving parties. Installation and inspection will be agreed at the place of work, without the promise of one universal scheme for the entire fleet.

The selection is confirmed by a specific configuration of the station, operating frequencies and connectors. A generic model name or range from the catalog is not enough.
Does the antenna 136-500 MHz work the same at each frequency?
The official total value does not replace the frequency characteristic of the CER. Conformity to the channels and coordination of the established path are confirmed separately.
The GM340 photo shows the entire car kit?
Nope. The illustration used shows the station. Microphone, antenna, power supply cable, mounting and necessary work are agreed on specification.
