GM340 and GM360 at stationary post: antenna line and LP-350
For a stationary workplace, the station, power supply and external antenna line must be agreed with the GM340 or GM360. The LP-350 is considered as a separate component of the chosen protection scheme. We will analyze the composition of the purchase and the results of acceptance, which help to get a working solution for your post.

Describe the work of the stationary post
For a post in a control room, production site or service area, identify correspondents, channels and operator actions. When choosing a GM340 or GM360, it is important to be responsive and audible in normal room noise.
In the specification, separately describe the station, external antenna, power supply and cable track, as well as the necessary work. Then you can compare the quotation for the same composition of the workplace.
Choosing a GM340 or GM360 for a post operator
For the post, it is useful to choose an interface for the usual actions of the operator. The standard GM340 is described by Motorola as a six-channel station with buttons and LED indications. The GM360 has 255 channels documented and a 14-character alphanumeric display. These are the characteristics of these models; the actual apparatus and its programming are checked separately.
| Model | The challenge in the workplace |
|---|---|
| GM340: 6 channels | Post with a small pre-known set of work channels and the usual button control |
| GM360: 255 channels, 14-character display | Selection from a wider prepared set; text channel names and call information when appropriately configured |
Channel names and caller names on the GM360 must be configured. Private Line and five-ton alarm are supported by both models under agreed settings. The display helps the operator navigate, but does not provide automatic compatibility with other devices or increase coverage.
Make a list by actual location
| Part of the workplace | What to agree on for quotation |
|---|---|
| GM360 or GM340 | Full configuration, work channels, condition, controls and necessary accessories |
| Power supply and accommodation | Station-specific requirements, suitable source, service access and method of fixation |
| Outdoor antenna | Working range, suitable type, place of installation and attachment |
| Feeder and connections | Track, length, losses at the desired frequencies, connectors and transition elements |
| Protection of the antenna line | Configuration LP-350, documentation and agreed scheme of inclusion in the project |
| Start and receive. | Performer, setup, measurement and verification of conversations with the right subscribers |
The 2006 Motorola specifications indicate for the documented VHF/UHF-configuration GM340 and GM360 power supply 10.8–15.6 V DC, nominal 13.2 V. The actual station configuration is confirmed separately. The source for the post is selected according to its permissible voltage and full load: the transmitter power is not the consumption of the entire device. Connection and protection are agreed on by specific source.
Existing microphones, cables and mounts can be included in the reuse discussion. Give them their full status and designations. The Motorola Supply Catalog for GM shows that power supply cables vary in application; the overall brand and the exterior similarity do not replace the reconciliation of a particular position.
Pick up the antenna and cable track
In the request, a diagram of the room and the intended location of the antenna with a distance to the station is useful. For the track, passways, accessible mounting points and external areas are recorded. According to these data, a feeder, connections and assembly composition are selected.
The BC-100 from our other Radio4You catalog can be considered as a separate position for the selection of a stationary antenna solution. Its configuration, correspondence to channels and the necessary attachment are confirmed in the quotation.
If you plan to keep the old antenna at the post, separately check the feeder and connectors. The unsuccessful result of the conversation does not allow you to immediately determine that a new station is needed. Checking an existing tract helps to highlight the components that really need to be replaced and keep the working parts of the workplace working.
What the LP-350 adds to the order
Nana OPEK official website LP-350A is described with SO-239/SO-239 and LP-350B with PL-259/SO-239. When ordering a position with the common name LP-350, the actual suffix and compounds must be confirmed. A suitable connector on the station side does not automatically determine the connections at the antenna input.
The manufacturer specifies the DC-500 MHz band, 50 Ohm resistance and a maximum power of 300 W PEP for the family. The designation PEP is retained for discussion: it is not a universal 300 W continuous transmission tolerance. Operating power, mode and applicability are confirmed by the documentation of the proposed configuration.
The LP-350 is selected along with the object’s antenna line protection and grounding circuitry. The presence of one discharger does not confirm the protection of the entire system in any event. The place of inclusion, installation and connection to the system of the object is agreed by the responsible specialist on the applicable documents. In the product review can not be transferred arbitrary cross-section of the conductor or universal scheme for each building.
The passport of a particular product is more important than a set of numbers from different catalogs. For the proposed LP-350, the parameters required for your project are separately confirmed. This technical guide does not include unconfirmed values of pulse current, temperature or breakdown voltage. The discharger also does not fix an inconsistent antenna or a damaged feeder.
What results to take after installation
| Phase | Adopted result |
|---|---|
| Scope of supply | Apparatus, accessories and full designations coincide with the specification |
| Installation documentation | Adopted power supply, placement, antenna track and agreed protection composition |
| Antenna line | Checked connections and coordination on the channels used |
| Working conversations | Calls confirmed with required correspondents in both directions |
| Exploitation | Settings, restrictions and order of service of the workplace are fixed |
Checking the post should include real work points of correspondents. The quality of the conversation is evaluated together with the convenience of the operator: access to the microphone, audibility and clear choice of channel. If a backup or recovery is provided after power supply is turned off, the relevant actions and results criteria shall be agreed upon in advance.
How to make a subject request
Write down which stations are working for employees, where the post is located and what has already been installed. Add the frequencies used, the circuit, the necessary accessories and the city of receipt – for example, Novosibirsk, Omsk or Almaty. The point of delivery and the place of installation work are indicated separately if they differ.
The main cards below are on the GM360 VHF and GM340 VHF in HelloMotorola. The LP-350 and BC-100 are featured in our other Radio4You catalog, and are selected in separate lines. Agreeing a specific configuration, condition, kit and current availability allows you to obtain a comparable quotation for the desired workplace.
Questions before ordering
LP-350A and LP-350B differ only in name.
Nope. OPEK indicates different pairs of connectors: SO-239/SO-239 for A and PL-259/SO-239 for B. The suffix and the actual configuration are agreed before ordering.
300 W for the LP-350 - continuous allowable power?
The official family page lists 300 W PEP. Admissibility for your mode is confirmed by the documentation of the specific product offered.
Is one station and LP-350 enough for a ready post?
The full composition depends on the object: coordinate power supply, antenna, feeder, connections, installation and protection scheme. The presence of a discharger does not prove the protection of the entire installation in any event.
