Motorola GP340 VHF: Handheld workhorse that is not decommissioned
GP340 It has long been discontinued from production, but at the facilities it is still in the ranks - and not out of stocking. It's a handheld station. Professional Series: 16 channels, five watts, range 136–174 MHz, protection IP54. In our warehouse it is complete - with a charger, flexible antenna and battery HNN9009.

Why is it slow to change?
For security, construction and logistics work, assess the controls, carrying arrangements and maintenance needs of the specific radio. When handing equipment between shifts, record its contents and condition; inspect a damaged radio before returning it to service. The power rating of one radio does not establish coverage across the whole site.
The battery is the main consumable
The nickel-metal hydride HNN9009 loses capacity over time, and the complaint “began to settle quickly” is almost always about the battery, not about the station. You taking an ex-worker? Ask for a battery release date and take pictures of the compartment contacts - these are two things that immediately show the station's real mileage. The spare battery and the second charger replace the issue for a long time – the HNN9009 batteries we have a separate position.
How GP340 lives in the fleet
Pair to wearable GP340 usually works in the same system as the vehicle-mounted GM340 or GM160: the same range, the same channels, different roles - machine and man. There is a pitfall here: handheld VHF and vehicle-mounted UHF, even with one channel, do not hear each other - the range must coincide. When the fleet switches to the handheld number, the part is changed to MOTOTRBO, the vehicle-mounted to the DM2600 or DM4401, and the analog mode of the digital stations allows the GP340 to remain in service until the end of the transition.
What to Check Before Buying
Three things are considered: the release date of the battery, the purity of the contacts of the battery compartment and whether the native power supply unit is included. Incompatible “similar” memory and battery are a common reason for returns: connectors, mounts and landing dimensions in the Motorola series are different, and the detail from the neighboring series will not stand up. We check compatibility against your list before shipment.
What is available and how to order
GP340 VHF in stock - a few pieces, with RAM, antenna and battery. Nearby we hold the vehicle-mounted GM340 and GM160 for the pair system. Send models of stations and the number - we will answer the price, availability and deadline, usually on the same day. Positions from the technical guide - in the "Available" block below.
Allocate GP340 kits by workstation, not just by radio count
At a warehouse in Novosibirsk, one employee may use a headset, another a remote microphone and a third the radio’s own controls. Record the particular GP340 version, installed battery and accessories for each workstation. An identical radio count should not conceal differences between kits.
For a field repair team near Perm, separately account for communication with the vehicle station, spare battery issue and charging after returning to base. For security at a shore base on the Irtysh, record shift arrangements and equipment handover procedures. List retained radios and accessories separately from new items; agree on compatibility and the actual kit using full model references, rather than the Motorola name alone.
